Sanitary waste is a controlled waste and must be disposed of under strict legislation.

The Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 specify that all companies are required to provide a suitable means for the disposal of sanitary dressings in ladies washrooms. The Water Industries Act 1991 also states that no items should be flushed that could cause a blockage within a sewer or drain.

Staff and customers will inevitably form a view of a company and its operation by their first impressions and an unpleasant smelling washroom can have a negative impact. In the workplace staff can exercise their legal rights if inadequate provision is not made.

All sanitary waste disposal services carry a Waste Transfer Note / Duty of Care documentation to conform to Duty of Care legislation for an audit trail of Waste Disposal.

All hygiene service personnel are female and CRB checked for the service of sensitive sites such as women's refuges and nurseries.

Servicing

On each visit the sanitary units are sanitised and the liner replaced. The bin is then charged with a germicidal chemical that has an antibacterial action killing germs, thus neutralising bad odours at source. Retaining the same sanitary bins prevent any possibility of cross contamination between sites.

For a standard office/commercial premises a 4 weekly cycle is normally sufficient.

Combined cleaning, washroom supplies and sanitary service discount packages are available.
